ShiBiFEED is a Lebanese team that makes free Arabic videos that help young people in the Arab world think about life, relationships and the choices they make. Its programmes run on YouTube and social media, with more than 300 episodes across three series.
Bring episodes scattered across YouTube and social media into one Arabic home where young people, and those who work with them, can find a topic in seconds, and give the team one place to publish videos, curriculums and articles.
ShiBiFEED's in-house team designed the website and handed us the design files. We built it as a right-to-left Next.js front end on a Laravel back end, with search on Meilisearch, media on Amazon S3 and an admin dashboard the team runs day to day.
Each series has its own page with seasons, numbered episodes and a filter for episodes that come with a curriculum.
Results appear as you type, across videos, articles and curriculums, powered by Meilisearch.
Narrow results by video length, orientation (vertical or horizontal) and programme.
YouTube playback, topic tags, comments, previous and next episode, and related videos.
Episodes can be downloaded in HD, served from Amazon S3, to use in group sessions and workshops.
The team publishes videos, curriculums and blog posts, moderates comments and arranges page sections with a page builder, no developer needed.
Most visitors arrive on a phone, so every layout was designed for small screens first, then scaled up.
